Ned G. Harmon, 89, died June 22, 2007 at Mennonite Manor, South Hutchinson.
He was born Feb. 22, 1918 in Gate, Okla., the son of Winnie Benjamin and Daisy Jay Harmon. A resident of South Hutchinson, having lived in Springfield, Colo. from 1945 to 1948 and in Haviland from 1958 to 2006, he was a retired farmer and worked for Kiowa County and the city of Greensburg.
He belonged to the Friends Church, Haviland.
On June 3, 1945 he married Reba Irene Harmon in Baca County, Colo. She survives.
Other survivors include: two sons, Dean and wife Becky, Sterling and Earl, Odem, TX; four daughters, Macine Cook and husband Gaylord, Hutchinson, Wanda Childs and husband Steve, Sterling, Vivian Thomson and husband Dan, Gardner and Sheila Clark and husband Woody, Wichita; 14 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by all of his brothers and sisters.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the Friends Church, Haviland, with Everett Jantz and Robin Johnston presiding. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Burial will be in the Haviland Community Cemetery, Haviland.
