Obituary

Nellie R. Clark, 92, died May 3, 2007, at Wesley Towers, Hutchinson.

She was born Jan. 26, 1915, in Harper County, Okla., the daughter of Jesse B. and Eva Jane Rogers Smalley. She attended Protection schools and graduated from Adela Hale Business College. A resident of Hutchinson since 1955, she was a retired bookkeeper for Adam's Parker Furniture, and a former sales clerk for Wiley's.

She belonged to the Methodist faith, Delos V. Smith Senior Center and the Little Do Nothing club.

On Feb. 28, 1931, she married Jesse "Red" Clark, in Coldwater. He died April 8, 2000.

Survivors include: three sons, Russell and wife, Barbara, Tescott, Don and wife, Carol, Hutchinson, and Raymond and wife, Sandi, Topeka; a daughter, Nellie Flowers and husband, Jack, Petal, Miss.; 13 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Carl and Glen Smalley; and a sister, Genevie Mills.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson with the Rev. Robert B. Brooks presiding. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday and Monday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. The casket will be closed. Burial will be in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum.
