Nelson C. Jacobs, 85, died Nov. 14, 2008, at Wheatlands Health Care Center, Kingman.
He was born June 19, 1923, in rural Zenda, the son of James W. and Maude Wilcox Jacobs.
He attended a country school near Zenda. A lifelong Zenda community resident, moving to Medicine Lodge in 1996 and then to Kingman in 2005, he was a farmer and stockman.
He belonged to the Zenda United Methodist Church, was a charter member of the Zenda-Nashville Lions Club, Stan Smart Masonic Lodge, Zenda, which later merged with the Harper Blue Lodge No. 206 A.F. & A.M.
Survivors include: a nephew, Jim Jacobs, Hutchinson; and three nieces, Mary Morris, Wichita, Ruth Thrasher, Cunningham and Karen Powell, Kingman.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, James W. Jacobs and three sisters, Orba Day, Lois Jacobs and Mary Lou Jacobs.
Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2008 in Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Zenda.
Friends may sign the register from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday, at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2008 at the Senior Center, Zenda.
Memorials may be sent to Leisure Time Senior Center, Medicine Lodge or Hospice Of Reno County,
both in care of the mortuary.
