Neta Eileen Kowitz, 88, died April 13, 2014, at Dillon Living Center. She was born April 29, 1925, in Lincoln, Kan., to Robert U. and Reva S. Hendrickson Herman.

Neta attended Lincoln High School graduating in 1944 and Stewarts Beauty Academy in 1945. She was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church, Red Hats, Square Dance, Elmdale Recreation Center, Hutchinson Water sports Club, Women of the Moose Hutchinson Chapter #1371, and American Legion. Neta was a beautician for Sid Oliver for a short time at the Wiley Building and was the secretary for 40 years at Kowtiz and Kowitz Electrical Company. On May 4, 1946, she married William C. "Bud" Kowitz in Hutchinson. He died Feb. 25, 1994. Survivors include: son, Jeff Kowitz and wife Sarah of Hutchinson; daughter-in-law, Susan Kowitz of Hutchinson; grandchildren, Jessica Luke and husband Ryan of Monterey, Calif., Lee Kowitz of Brooklyn, NY, Katie Collins and husband Ryan of Mission Viejo, Calif., Hannah Rolling and husband Justin of Branson, Mo., Amanda Baughan of Mission Viejo, Calif.; sisters, Nola Gaeddert and husband Albert of Inman, Kan., Joyce Perryman of Tuscon, Ariz.; brother, Robert W. Herman and wife Helen of Yukon, Okla.; seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Eric Kowitz; and sister, Drene Hipple.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday, April 18, 2014, at Emanuel Lutheran Church, Hutchinson, with Pastor Tim Carey and Pastor Phil Vickers presiding. Burial will follow in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum, Hutchinson. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. to noon Friday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
