Neva M. Regier, 87, died December 19, 2012 at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. She was born April 21, 1925, in Halstead, to Ben T. and Ethel (Johnson) Koehn. She was a 1944 graduate of Halstead High School. Neva was a member of South Hutchinson Mennonite Church.
On October 6, 1944, she married Reuben Regier in Wichita. He died August 5, 2001.
She and Reuben volunteered together at the Et Cetera Shop. Neva was a farm wife and was a restaurant cook for several years, having worked at Hesston Colonial House and Country Kitchen, Moundridge. She loved to cook and garden and she enjoyed many types of crafts, including crochet, knitting, quilting, embroidery and cross stitching. She was a member of the Hutchinson Antique Car Club and Quilter's Guild.
Survivors include two daughters, Janice Hoppes (Ron), Hutchinson and Denise Gerber (Greg), Wichita and two granddaughters, Rachel and Laura Gerber, both of Wichita.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brother, Eugene Koehn.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 22, 2012 at South Hutchinson Mennonite Church with Pastor Howard Wagler officiating. Burial will be in Hebron Cemetery. Visitation will be 9-3 Friday at Elliott Mortuary and the family will receive friends from 6-8 Friday at South Hutchinson Mennonite Church. Visitation will also be from 11-service time Saturday at the church. Memorials may be made to the South Hutchinson Mennonite Church, First Mennonite Church, Halstead or Hutchinson Family Community Theater in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N, Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
