Neva N. Schmelzer, 98, died June 26, 2006, at Good Samaritan Center, Hutchinson.
She was born June 26, 1908, in Artesia, N.M., the daughter of Robert and Maude Constant Kline. A Hutchinson resident since 1940, she was a homemaker and bookkeeper for Tucker's Meat Market.
She belonged to Trinity United Methodist Church, Hutchinson, and was a member of the Carey Park Women's Golf Association.
On Oct. 5, 1928, she married Revere C. Schmelzer in Wichita. He died Oct. 25, 1997.
Survivors include: a sister, Lela Finch, Edmond, Okla.; a son-in-law, Gary Albright, Topeka; two grandsons, Brad and wife, Misty, Lago Vista, Texas, and Jeff, Olathe; and three great-granddaughters, Codi, Kayla and Cheyenne.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Judy Albright; two brothers, Robert and Claude C. Kline; and a sister, Evelyn Gambill.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with the Rev. Amy Lippoldt presiding. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum.
