Nina "Irene" Casey, 84, died March 8, 2007 at the Good Samaritan Village, Hutchinson.
She was born Nov. 3, 1922 in Nickerson, the daughter of Ezra A. and Charlotte B. Neuenschwander Schott. She attended Hutchinson schools. A resident of Hutchinson, she was a deli worker for Dillon's deli, and then later worked at Dillon's Warehouse.
On Aug. 31, 1940, she married Harold Richard Casey, in Hutchinson. He died Dec. 7, 1991.
Survivors include: a son, Richard Wayne "Rick," Hutchinson, a daughter, Judith Ann Casey, and her companion, Peggy Fremd, Daleville, Ala; a sister, Marie Stringer and her husband Nate, Pauline; and two grandchildren, Joshua Paul Casey, Hutchinson and Rikki Renee Casey, Wichita.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Melvin Schott and David Schott; and a sister, Elsie Gingerich.
Graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum, Hutchinson, with Pastor Gaylene Williams presiding. Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. Sunday and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson with the family present 7 to 8 p.m. Monday.
Memorials may be sent to the American Lung Association or the American Diabetes Association, both in care of the mortuary.
