Obituary

Nola L. Schott, 93, of Hutchinson, died Dec. 7, 2016, at Thorne Care Center, Hutchinson. She was born March 3, 1923, in Sheridan County, KS, to John L. and Almyra J. (Johnson) Frye.

Nola graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1940 and attended Adela Hale Business College. She was an office manager for National Life and Accident Insurance. Nola was a very active lifelong member of First Church of the Nazarene and taught Sunday school for 50 years. She had a passion for sharing her faith in Christ.

On June 5, 1944, she married Gerhon Paul Schott in Hutchinson. He died Sept. 5, 2006. Nola is survived by: daughter, Ramona Shepherd and husband Ralph of Hutchinson; son, Roger Schott of Houston, TX; brother, Calvin Frye of Phoenix, AZ; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by: her parents; brother, Milton Frye; and sisters, Twila Beck and Geraldine Burwell.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 12, 2016, at First Church of the Nazarene, 43rd and Monroe, Hutchinson, with Pastor Dave Childers and Dr. Bob Broadbooks officiating. Burial will follow in Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m to 9 p.m. Sunday, with family to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Elliott Mortuary.
