SOUTH HUTCHINSON - Nora Yutzy, 96, died July 13, 2006, at Mennonite Manor, South Hutchinson.

She was born Sept. 10, 1909, in Thomas, Okla., the daughter of Edward F. and Fannie Yoder Bontrager. Her family moved to Winfield in 1921, and then to Reno County in 1922, she was a homemaker.

She belonged to Yoder Mennonite Church, where she taught Sunday School for 22 years for young children, and taught summer Bible School for many years.

On Sept. 27, 1945, she married Harvey Schrock in Yoder. He died March 5, 1969. On July 16, 1972, she married Joe Yutzy in Yoder. He died June 13, 1988.

Survivors include: stepsons and wives, Harold and Jackie, Arvada, Colo., and Merl and Marvis, St. Petersburg, Fla.; stepdaughters, Orva Hargett and her husband, Ron, Newton, and Elaine Anderson, Roanoke, Va.; two sisters, Katie Bontrager, Scott City, and Alice Stutzman, South Hutchinson; a sister-in-law, Mickey Bontrager, Wichita; 10 step-grandchildren; seven step-great-grandchildren; and many nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, William and Paul Bontrager; and six sisters, Lydiann Yoder, Edna Bontrager, Fannie Yoder, Ida Kaufman, Mary Ann Miller and Dora Bontrager.

Graveside service will be at 10:15 a.m. Tuesday in Yoder Mennonite Church Cemetery. Memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Yoder Mennonite Church, with Pastors Robert Yutzy, Peter Hartman, and Dan Kaufman presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday and Monday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday.
