Norma J. Anderson, 83, died April 13, 2016, at Brookdale of Hutchinson. She was born Nov. 3, 1932, in Buffalo, Okla., to Edward S. and Enola L. (Dennis) Yauk.
Norma graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1950, attended Hutchinson Community College, and graduated in 1954 from the registered nurse program at the St. Joseph School of Nursing, Wichita. She started her nursing career at St. Elizabeth Hospital, worked in private practice with Dr. Grady Coker as a nurse delivering many babies, and retired as a surgical nurse at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. Norma was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church for over 54 years.
Survivors include: son, Mark Anderson and wife Cindy of Wichita; daughters, Carol Webster of Lee's Summit, Mo., Karen Labadie and husband Glenn of Pleasant Hill, Mo.; grandchildren, Darcie Gomez and husband Branigun, Matthew Webster, Christopher Labadie, Ross Anderson and wife Melissa, and Jordan Labadie; and two great-grandchildren, Geovani and Paxon Gomez. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Graveside service will be held at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, April 16, 2016, at Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson, with Vicar Brent Horne officiating. Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday with the family present from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
