Norma L. Bradley, 82, died Jan. 13, 2010, at her home.
She was born February 14, 1927, in Youngtown, Kan., the daughter of Frank and Marie Elizabeth Stoewe Ireland.
She graduated from Florence High School in 1945, and then Friends University. She later received her Masters from Emporia State Teachers College in 1967. Norma was one of the first special education teachers in Hutchinson, teaching children from the age of 6 to 16 years at Grandview. She then went on to teach at Allen and Morgan Elementary retiring in 1989, but continued to substitute until 1991. She had attended Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, Salem Community Church of the Brethren, and Park Place Christian Church.
On Nov. 23, 1949, she married Richard Louis Bradley in Fowler, Kan. Survivors include; daughters, Chris Bradley of the home, Mary Lou Frigon of Niceville, Fla.; son, Rick Bradley of Niceville, Fla.; brother, John B. Ireland of Enid, Okla.; three grandchildren, Teresa, Joseph and Pete Frigon; and four great-grandchildren, Roland, Logan, Bailey & Dade. She was preceded in death by: her parents; brothers and sisters, Henry Ireland, Gail Ireland, Kenneth Ireland,Walter Ireland, Joyce Roberts and Opal Brown.
Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Saturday March 20, 2010, at Partridge Grade School. Family will greet friends following the service.
