Norma J. Dunlap, 79, gave her life to Jesus Christ at an early age and continued to serve him throughout her life. She passed away April 23, 2008, at the Hutchinson Hospital. She was born Sep. 12, 1928, at Montrose, the daughter of Roy and Anna Robinette Quick.

She attended elementary school in a one-room schoolhouse at Brenham. In 1946, she graduated from the Friends Bible Academy in Haviland.

She was a homemaker and a retired bookkeeper from F.W. Woolworths. She was a charter member of the Hutchinson Friends Church. She was a member of the church missions society, active supporter of Barclay College, Haviland and Friends ministries.

On Sept. 12, 1946, she married Elwood O. Mendenhall in Haviland. He died in Aug. 1982. In July 1996, she married George Bonesteel in Tucson, Ariz. He died in 1998. On March 6, 2004, she married Floyd R. Dunlap. He survives.

Survivors include: sons, Steven O. Mendenhall, Memphis, Tenn., Alan Mendenhall, Hutchison; daughters, Barbara Moe, Loveland Colo., Sherry A. Owen, Fort Collins, Colo., Lori Durant, Hutchinson; brothers, Eldon Quick, Rantoul, Ill., John Quick, Hutchinson; 12 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She is preceded in death by brothers, Dallas and infant Wendell Quick; sister, Ardath Avery; granddaughter, Elizabeth Moe.

Memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Hutchinson Friends Church, Hutchinson, with Gary Getting, and nephews, Gerald Mendenhall and Randy Littlefield, presiding. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Cremation has taken place; a family inurnment will take place at a later date in Haviland Cemetery, Haviland.
