Norma Joy McFarland, 86, passed away August 23, 2013, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. She was born July 19, 1927, in rural Burrton, KS to Charles and Norma Baughman Grubbs.

Norma graduated from Adela Hale Secretarial School and was a secretary for Allen Grade School and later, for attorney Aubrey Earhart. She was a member of Berean Baptist Church for over 60 years. She enjoyed visiting the Delos V. Smith Sr. Center. She married John Hugh McFarland on November 28, 1947. He died October 31, 2008.

Survivors include: daughter, Jo Ann Gauthier and husband Stephen; grandson, Shane Gauthier; granddaughter, Kelly Gauthier; and brother, Herbert Grubbs, all of Hutchinson; brother, Charles Grubbs and Gloria, Partridge; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins that were dear to her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and twin daughters, Delores Lou and Diane Sue.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, August 28, 2013, at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with Pastor Roger Neir presiding. Burial will be in Burrton Cemetery. Friends may call Monday and Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday at Elliott Mortuary.
