Obituary

Norman Dean "Bud" Sepp, 78, died Saturday, Oct. 11, 2014. He was born Sept. 23, 1936, at Peoria, Ill., the son of Ralph and Edna (Thurman) Sepp.

He was a 1954 graduate of Peoria, Illinois High School, a member of Park Place Christian Church, a veteran of the U.S. Army, 101st Airborne (parachutist) and Army Reserve, a member of American Legion Lysle Rishel Post #68 and retired from the Army National Guard in 1981. Bud had belonged to the Salt City Cruiser's and had volunteered with RSVP's defensive driving course. He had worked several occupations including law enforcement, a courier for Hutchinson Community College in support and maintenance and an activity school bus driver for USD's 313 and 309 until 2013. He had been married to Beverly Embry, Sharon Herbison and Lillian Fleming.

He is survived by: his children, Dean Sepp of Chamblee, Ga., Kelly Sepp Wallace of Henderson, Ky., Bryan Sepp of Gainsville, Fla., Larry Cottrell (Toni) of Hutchinson; a daughter-in-law, Gina Sepp of St. Joseph, Ariz.; a nephew, Duane Meinen of Maricopa, Ariz.; seven grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; and companion, Marilyn Ochs of Hutchinson. He was preceded in death by: his parents; his wives, Beverly and Lillian; a son, Jason Sepp; and his sister, Phyllis Meinen.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 16, 2014, at Park Place Christian Church, with Pastors Lynn Taylor and Amy Foster presiding. Burial with military honors will be conducted by Ft. Riley Honor Guard at Fairlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. with family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the church or HCC Endowment Association, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
