Obituary

Norman Guy Loop, 79, died Aug. 14, 2007, at Hospice House, Hutchinson.

He was born Jan. 16, 1928, in Hardy, Neb., the son of Guy Albert and Alice Juliette Clark Loop. He has been a Hutchinson resident since 1961. He graduated from Hardy High School in 1946. He worked for Ideal Cement Plant, Superior, Neb., later working for Champlin Petroleum in Superior and Columbus, in Neb., Rock Rapids, Iowa, and Hutchinson.

He belonged to the Faith United Methodist Church, the Hutchinson-Reno Masonic Lodge No. 124, A.F. & A.M., Scottish Rite and the Midian Shrine.

On Oct. 13, 1948, he married Lorene D. Stenson at Hardy, Neb. She survives.

Other survivors include: two sons, Gary and wife, Margo Loop, Valley Center, Larry and wife, Peggy Loop, Park City; two daughters, Norene Loop, Valley Center, Bonnie and husband, Jon Heard, Carthage, Mo.; a brother, Jimmie Loop, Superior, Neb.; two sisters, Joline Allington and Connie Swihart, both of Superior, Neb.; and six grandchildren, Jeff, Daniel, Kelsey and Meryl Loop, and Megan Cornish and Sally Heard; and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson, with Pastor Ron Kite presiding. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Masonic Rites will be given by the Hutchinson-Reno Masonic Lodge No. 124 A.F. & A.M. Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. in Hardy (Neb.) Cemetery with Pastor Dorthea Fairbanks presiding.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Faith United Methodist Church or Victory in the Valley Cancer Services, Hutchinson.
