Norman C. Sawaya, 87, of Hutchinson, passed away August 17, 2020, at Hospice House, Hutchinson.

He is survived by: his wife of 65 years, Patricia; children, Sharon (Jim DeFries), Diana, James, Chris (Nancy); six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and his sister, Anna Evonne Scuitte.

Norman was preceded in death by: his parents, Olive and George Sawaya; brothers, Jack, George Jr., Emerson, and Anrol Oliver 'Buddy'; and a sister, Noreen Cooke Schell.

Norman served proudly as a Marine in the Korean War.  In 2014, he participated in an Honor Flight to Washington, D.C.

For over 30 years, Norman sold insurance and was a financial planner.  He was an active member at Emanuel Lutheran Church.  Norman was also a Shriner, and a member of the Isis Temple Pipes and Drums bagpipe band for many years.

Memorial service will be announced at a later date.   Friends may sign his book from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday at Elliott Mortuary.
