Norman H. Vogts, 81, of Hutchinson, died July 28, 2012, at Buhler Sunshine Home.
Norman was born June 4, 1931, at Goessel, the son of Benjamin and Esther Hulda Osthoff Vogts.
He graduated from Canton High School in 1949 and later attended Business College in Wichita. While he attended Business College, he delivered milk for Steffen's Dairy. Norman was a salesman and truck driver for City Beverage Co., and later worked as a machinist for Cessna Fluid Power, and later Consolidated Rebuilders. Norman was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, and was active with the National Rifle Assn. He was a former member of the U.S. Army National Guard.
On June 5, 1964, Norman married Neola Darlene Westhusin, in Hutchinson. She died June 5, 2007.
Survivors include: a son, Ed Jordan and wife Bonny of Lenora; a daughter, Pam Lyle and husband Buck of Hutchinson; a sister, Luella Nutter and husband Vern of McPherson; and a daughter-in-law, Anita Jordan of St. Petersburg, Florida; six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and a great great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Dean Jordan; and a sister, Darlene Chappell.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 3, 2012, at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, with Reverend Chad A. Trunkhill presiding. A register book may be signed from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday at Elliott Mortuary.
