Novella Thompson, 97, died Jan. 15, 2016, at Thorne Care Center, Hutchinson. She was born Oct. 7, 1918, at Gracemont, Okla., to Ivy and Alice (Dubois) Jenkins.

On Aug. 2, 1936, she married Harry O. Thompson in Protection. He died Dec. 1, 1982.

Novella was a nurse's aide at Grace Hospital and St. Elizabeth Hospital. She attended the First Christian Church in Coldwater. Novella loved tending to her flowers and gardening.

Survivors include: son, Steven Thompson; daughter, Susan Watson, both of Hutchinson; two grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson, with another great-great-grandson to be born in February; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by: her parents; son, Harry Ronnie; four sisters; and one brother.

Cremation has taken place. Graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 21, 2016, in Crown Hill Cemetery, Coldwater. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and Wednesday, with the family to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Elliott Mortuary.
