Olive F. Westmoreland, 85, died Aug. 6, 2012, at her home. She was born July 17, 1927, in Lyons to Gilbert and Ferne (Reynolds) Sherman.
Olive graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1945. On July 17, 1959, she married Lloyd Westmoreland in Hutchinson. She was a member of Walnut and Campbell Church of Christ. She loved making and donating quilts with her church group. Olive worked for Farmland Steel Products, retiring in 1983, after seven years of service.
Survivors include: three sons, David of Hutchinson, Mark of Cheney, Lynn of Lincoln, Neb.; two daughters, Fern Westmoreland-Brunet of Coats and Nancy Hale of Marion, Ohio; sister, Esther James and husband Phil of Tulsa, Okla.; 16 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; four great great-grandchildren; and ex husband, Lloyd Westmoreland of Hutchinson. She was preceded in death by daughter, Sue Dreadfulwater; two brothers, Calvin and Harold Sherman; and sister, Irene Gehring.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 11, 2012, at Elliott Chapel with Pastors Willard and Matt Stafford officiating. Burial will be in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum, Hutchinson. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary.
