Opal Mae Jett's Obituary
Opal Mae Jett, 83, died Nov. 4, 2009 at her home, South Hutchinson. She was born Sept. 7, 1926 in Machester, OK to John Wesley and Emma Foster Smith. She married James William Alexander in 1946. He died March 3, 1954. She married Richard L. Jett in 1955. He died in 1994.
A resident of the Hutchinson area since 1991, coming from Arizona, she was a homemaker. Opal was an avid bingo player.
Survivors include a daughter, Nancy House, South Hutchinson; son Jay Jett, Tucson, AZ; sister, Thelma Ruth, Wichita; 4 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Edna Taving and Lucille Smith; two brothers, Melvin and Russell Smith; and a great-granddaughter.
Cremation has taken place. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to Hospice House in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501. Visit www.elliottmortuary.com to leave condolences for the family.
