Dr. Owen C. "Bud" Taylor, 77, died Aug. 3, 2006 at Hospice House.
He was born July 11, 1929, in Grand Rapids, Mich., the son of Harold and Genevieve L. Norton Taylor. He graduated in 1947 from Coopersville High School, Coopersville, Mich. In 1950, he received his bachelor's degree from Western Michigan and graduated in 1954 from the
University of Michigan Dental School. A resident of Hutchinson for the past 48 years, he was a retired dentist.
He belonged to Trinity United Methodist Church, where he was in the Doers Sunday School Class, was an Eagle Scout, Kansas Cosmosphere and Space Center Docent, Hutchinson Theatre Guild, Boy Scout and Girl Scout volunteer, Hutchinson Kiwanis Club, Toastmasters, Central District Dental Society, Hutchinson Bunch Remote Control Flying Club and the Odontos Bowling Team. he served in the U.S. Air Force as a captain during the Korean War.
On Nov. 5, 1955, he married Sally J. Albright in Augusta. She survives.
Other survivors include: two sons, Owen C. "Todd", Jr., Woodville, Texas and Paul T., Dallas; a daughter, Kathleen T. "Kate" Williams, Salina; a sister, Lois T. Boslooper, Clearwater, Fla.; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Norton.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Trinity United Methodist Church with the Rev. Pat Ault-Duell presiding. Visitqtion will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday through Monday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchisnon.
