Pat M. Baytosh, 78, died Dec. 22, 2008, at Promise Regional Medical Center, Hutchinson.

She was born March 4, 1930, in Hutchinson, the daughter of Ernie J. and Myrt Lawson. She graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1948. A lifetime Hutchinson resident, she was an employee of Wiley's Department Store for many years and also taught swimming lessons at the YMCA and for the Red Cross.

She was a member of St. Teresa's Catholic Church, and a former member of the Women of the Moose Hutchinson Chapter No. 1371.

On March 8, 1948, she married John T. Baytosh, in Hutchinson. He died Oct. 11, 2001.

Survivors include: a son, Terry and wife Lisa, Hutchinson; a daughter, Pam Sander and husband Aaron, McPherson; a sister, Eva Curtiss, Colorado Springs, Colo.; six grandchildren, William John Baytosh, Chris Baytosh, Danielle Biery, Brittney Baytosh, Wendy Richards, and Jason Smith; nine great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Goldie Hefling.

She donated her body to the University of Kansas Medical School.

Graveside service will be held at a later date in the Kansas Veterans Cemetery, WaKeeney. There will be a book to sign from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday through Sunday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.

Memorials may be made to Lupus Foundation of America or to St. Teresa's Catholic School, both in care of the mortuary.
