Patricia Kay "Diggs" Baker, 61, died Jan. 19, 2006, at Via Christi Regional Medical Center, St. Francis Campus, Wichita.
She was born July 9, 1944, in Hutchinson, the daughter of Ellis Wayne Sr. and Iva Mae Mooney Diggs. She was a 1962 graduate of Hutchinson High School. A lifetime Hutchinson resident until moving to Lakin in June 2005, she was a homemaker and a former employee at Cessna.
She belonged to Riverside Baptist Church. She was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie No. 2550, was a volunteer for Lakin Beautification projects, former assistant Scout Master for Pack No. 370 and was a former assistant Scout Master for Troop No. 350. She was a U.S. Army private First Class and U.S. Navy veteran.
She married Donald F. Baker in June 1977. They later divorced.
Survivors include: two sons, Robert F. Baker, Lakin, and William K. Baker, Sheboygan, Wis.; seven brothers, Ellis Wayne Diggs Jr. and Paul Diggs, both of Longmont, Colo., Ronnie E. Diggs, Norman, Okla., Jack Diggs, Commerce, Ga., Darrell Diggs, Conway Springs, David Diggs, Littleton, Colo., and Kenny Diggs, Croston, Md.; two sisters, Karen A. Miller, Luther, Okla., and Sue Wallace, Rockmart, Ga.; and seven grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a granddaughter.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Riverside Baptist Church, with Pastor Richard Hawley presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Burial will be in Fairlawn Burial Park, with military honors conducted by the Fort Riley Honor Guard.
