Patricia Ann 'Shorty' Wolfe, 72, pf Pretty Prairie, died May 2, 2019, at her home. She was born July 26, 1946, in Coffeyville, the daughter of Charles and Violet (Lee) Ryan. Shorty attended Hutchinson High School and worked mostly as an upholsterer, even doing custom work for Darryl Starbird, and later in life was a bull hauler. She also made crafts to sell and enjoyed fishing, cooking, sewing, "kanitting," and "crocquetting." Shorty was ornery and had a unique sense of humor.
She married Harlin Wilson in 1964 and they divorced in 1966. On September 17, 1966, Shorty married Michael D. Wolfe in Murdock. He died March 31, 1981. She married Paul Chinn in 1998. He died in 2017.
Surviving are: daughter, Viroqua Blakey, Pretty Prairie; sons, Wesley Wilson (Jeannie), Mobile, AL, Thomas Wilson (Karena), Cheyenne, WY; grandchildren, Rachel and Rich Ciapponi, Cortney and Chris Parker, Wyatt Wilson, Keith and Elizabeth Wilson, Trisha Wolfe and Zachery Fanning, Jacob and Josian Blakey, Rena Blakey, Chaz Wilson, Shelby Wilson; great-grandchildren, Demi, Azrael, Kayana, Kairi, Leonidas, Sarah, Anthony, Gabriel, Amara, Arianna, Carbon, Miracle, Mireecia, Chaz, Brittlynn; sisters, Nancy Peeler (Ben), Charleston, SC, Jeanne Lukenbach (Dean), Sedgwick, Diane Jenkins (Mike), Gaffney, SC; brother, Steven Ryan (Barbara), Gaffney, SC; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Shorty was preceded in death by: her parents; 'Mama' Mary Ryan; husband, Michael D. Wolfe; son, Michael W. Wolfe; sister, Clarice Williams; brother, Butch Ryan; son-in-law, Wade Blakey; nephews, Paul Blakey and Ryan Williams.
Memorial service will be 3 p.m. Tuesday, May 7, 2019, at Elliott Chapel. Cremation will follow. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday at Elliott Mortuary. Memorials are suggested to the Patricia Wolfe Memorial Fund, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
