Patrick D. Sims, 78, of Hutchinson, died November 12, 2024, at his residence. He was born June 24, 1946, in Hutchinson, to Lawrence and Rebecca (Westin-Simonson) Sims.
Patrick achieved his associates degree in printing and ran the print shop at Hutchinson High School until he retired. He enjoyed playing Bingo and Pickleball with his son, Ryan, on a weekly basis. Patrick loved to golf and spent many hours at the Carey Park golf course. He was a member of the Gun Club, the Knights of Columbus, and the American Legion Lysle Rishel Post #68.
On June 18, 1966, he married Catherine Hostutler in Hutchinson at St. Teresa's Catholic Church. They shared 58 years of marriage.
Patrick is survived by: his wife, Catherine Sims of the home; sons, Paul and Ryan Sims of Hutchinson; brother, Michael (Susie) Sims of Hutchinson; grandchildren, Casey and Madison Roberts of Topeka, KS.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter, Angela Roberts.
Parish Rosary will be 10:30 a.m. followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 15, 2024, both at Church of the Holy Cross, 2631 Independence Road, Hutchinson with Father Jerome Spexarth officiating. Burial will follow in Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson. Friends may call Thursday, November 14, 2024 with the family present from 5 to 7 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Special Olympics Kansas, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
