Patty J. Parker, 88, of Hutchinson, died June 27, 2017, at Hester Care Center, Hutchinson. She was born June 28, 1928, in Sylvia, to Joseph Earl and Blanche (Calhoun) Miller.
Patty graduated from Sylvia High School. For 11 years, she was the assistant food service manager for the Topeka school system. Patty was a huge sports fan, supporting her favorite teams- the Kansas City Royals, the Kansas City Chiefs, and the KU Jayhawks. She also enjoyed bowling. Patty was a member of Eastwood Church of Christ. On August 30, 1946, she married Kenneth W. Parker in Sylvia. He died December 21, 1981.
Survivors include: sons, Dr. Craig Parker of Scottsdale, Arizona, Ben Parker of Hutchinson; daughters, Ronda McLean of Wichita; Robin Engles of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Angie Stanley of Topeka; brother, Ronnie Miller of Hutchinson, 14 grandchildren and nine-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and three brothers.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday, June 30, 2017, at Eastwood Church of Christ, 2500 N. Plum, Hutchinson, with Jimie-Wray Mead officiating. Graveside service will follow at 2:30 p.m. in Peace Creek Cemetery, rural Stafford. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday with the family present from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Memorials may be made to the KU Cancer Research Center, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
