Obituary

Paul "Brian" Cooper, 42, died Sept. 9, 2012, at his home in South Hutchinson.

He was born Aug., 26, 1970, in Hutchinson, the son of Kipp Cooper and Marti Gagnebin Cooper.

He graduated from Fairfield High School in 1989 and then entered the Army serving in Somalia. Brian was currently working at Tyson.

On Feb. 9, 2003, he married Sarah Jane Roach, in Hutchinson. She preceded him in death.

Survivors include: four children, Jacob Lee Cooper, Tasha Rose Cooper, Mackala SueAnne Blair, Adriana Faith Cooper; stepdaughter, Felicia Grace and husband Mickey Maldonado II; parents, David and Marti Abernathy of Plevna, Kipp and Jackie Cooper of Kansas City; three brothers, Brady Michael Cooper of Wichita, Jason Troy Abernathy of Buhler, Justin David Abernathy of Hutchinson; two grandchildren, Mickey and Gracelynn Maldonado; and many uncles, aunts and cousins. He was preceded in death by: his wife; and grandparents, Clair and Bonnie Gagnebin, Ivan and Lenore Cooper, Johnny and Thelma Armstrong.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 15, 2012, at Elliott Mortuary Chapel, with Pastor Eric Taylor presiding. A private family graveside service will follow at Abbyville Cemetery. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday with family to receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary Chapel.
