Paul J. Hoyer, 87, died Dec. 12, 2011, at Pleasant View Home, Inman. He was born July 30, 1924, in Nashville, Kan., to August and Clara Windler Hoyer.

Paul graduated from Nashville High School and was a supervisor for Cessna. On Sept. 19, 1948, he married Ruth A. Kroening in Hutchinson. She died March 5, 1998. Paul then married Wilma Meier Walker on Aug. 28, 1999, in Hutchinson. She survives.

Other survivors include: daughters, Patricia Hoyer of Wichita, Janelle Stockham Shaffer of Golden, Colo.; sons, Tim Hoyer and wife Deb of Lee's Summit, Mo., J.R. Hoyer and wife Val of Orefield, Pa.; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and sister, Marie Laverentz of Pratt. Paul was preceded in death by his parents; twin daughter, Pamela Hoyer; granddaughter, Gwendolyn Hoyer; and sisters, Ruth Laverentz and Verna Wilkening.

Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2011, at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, with Reverend Marvin Barz officiating. Burial will be in Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday and Monday with family to receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice Care of Kansas, Our Redeemer Lutheran Church or the Plaza at Pleasant View Home, in care of the mortuary.
