Obituary

WICHITA - Paul Gerald Ojeda Jr., 52, died April 2, 2007, at Robert J. Dole V.A. Regional Medical Center, Wichita.

He was born March 20, 1955, in Hutchinson, the son of Paul Torivio and Mary S. Martinez Ojeda. He had attended Hutchinson schools. A longtime resident of Hutchinson, moving to Wichita 15 years ago, he was a deliveryman for Star Lumber and Supply.

He was of the Catholic faith. He managed the Freshstart Veteran's homeless shelters at both the New York and the Waco locations, Wichita. He served in the U.S. Marines during the Vietnam era.

In 1975, he married Vicki Fox. He then married Penny Elizabeth Oliver. She survives.

Other survivors include: his mother; two brothers, Joe M. Sanchez, Hutchinson, and Rey Sanchez Sr., Wichita; two sisters, Reina Steinbrink and Geraldine Delgado, both of Hutchinson; and many nephews, nieces and godchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father; and a brother, Jimmie C. Sanchez.

Parish rosary will be at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, South Hutchinson. Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the church with Father Ned J. Blick officiating. Visitation is from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Burial will be in Fairlawn Burial Park, with military rites conducted by Marine Corps Honor Guard of Wichita.
