Obituary

Paul Gibson Webb, 69, died peacefully in the early morning of June 15, 2012, in Hutchinson, Kan. He was born June 24, 1942, in Wichita, Kan., the son of William Gibson and Virginia (Aldridge) Webb.

Paul graduated from Clearwater High School in 1960 and attended the University of Kansas. He served in the United States Navy from 1961 to 1965. Paul worked for the Salina Journal as Advertising Director from 1969 to 1984. He later retired as General Manager for Brown Industries Hydrogen Division. In Salina, Paul was a member of the City Planning Commission, was on the board at the Presbyterian Manor and was an elected City Councilman. He was a member of the Emanuel Lutheran Church, Hutchinson, and the Hutchinson Tree Board. Paul loved his garden and was a member of the Master Gardener's Association in Hutchinson and Salina, serving as the Past President of the Salina chapter.

On Nov. 8, 2008, he married Margaret "Margie" Joan Strommen Lundmark in Hutchinson. She survives.

Other survivors include: two sons, Jeffery D. Webb and wife Denisa Krejsl of Seattle, Wash. and Jason P. Webb of Whitefish, Mont.; two stepsons, Brian Lundmark and wife Sandy of Moore, Okla., and Brent Lundmark and wife Paula of Hutchinson; three brothers, Richard Webb and wife Lois of Wichita, John Webb and wife Maxine of Lawrence, William "Bill" Webb of Topeka; five grandchildren, Emil M. Webb, Killian Craig, Baylee Reade, Karstyn Lundmark and Sara Lundmark. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Virginia Webb.

Memorial service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 19, 2012, at the Emanuel Lutheran Church, Hutchinson, with Pastor Tim Carey presiding. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Clearwater Cemetery, Clearwater, Kan., with military honors conducted by the U.S. Naval Honor Guard. Friends may sign the book 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today and Monday, with family to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Elliott Mortuary. Memorials may be made to the Hutchinson Tree Board or the Clearwater Historical Society, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
