Pauline E. Horton, 91, of Hutchinson, died Feb. 15, 2012, at Dillon Living Center.

Pauline was born Jan. 11, 1921, in Hutchinson, the daughter of Lee C. and Hattie R. Hoag Field.

She graduated from Buhler High School in 1939. She worked for a time at Cessna Fluid Power and later moved to Pratt, and then to Cunningham, where she and her husband owned and operated Cunningham Grocery in Cunningham. She moved back to Hutchinson in 1994. Pauline was a former member of the Pratt Church of Christ and the Hutchinson Hospital Auxiliary, and current member of Eastwood Church of Christ.

Pauline married David J. Horton on Aug. 20, 1952, in Las Cruces, NM. He died August 20, 1992.

Survivors include: five daughters, Phyllis Johnson, and Lois Burgess and husband Terry, all of Hutchinson, Janice Befort and husband Curt of Wichita, Joyce McDaniel and husband Duane, and Debbie Osner and husband Dallas, all of Mulvane; a brother, Lyle Field of Wichita; three sisters, Wanda Nichols of Hutchinson, Mildred Dirksen of Wichita, and Norma Jean Mohr of Shawnee; a sister-in-law, Virginia Field of Manhattan; 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Orville Field, Ralph Field and Aaron Field; and a son-in-law, Cliff Johnson.

Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 20, 2012, at Elliott Mortuary, with Wayne DeWindt presiding. Burial will be in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum, Hutchinson. Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday with the family greeting friends from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday all at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
