Pauline Sanders Gisel, 88, died July 10, 2007, at Hospice House.
She was born Nov. 3, 1918 in Hutchinson, the daughter of Harvey Herbert and Rita A. Vetter Alumbaugh. She was a lifetime Hutchinson resident. She graduated from Nickerson High School in 1939. She was a homemaker and had been an assistant for Dr. Borra.
She was a member of Corner Stone Baptist Church. She was also a life member of D.A.V. Auxiliary and Prosperity Sharing Sisters.
On Nov. 3, 1939 she married Leo Sanders, Sr. in Hutchinson. He died Feb. 3, 1977. On Jan. 4, 1980 she married Lynn Gisel. He died Oct. 2, 2005.
Survivors include: two sons, David Sanders, Akron, Ohio and Steven Sanders, Nickerson; two stepsons, Richard, Hutchinson and Dennis, Lawrence; a daughter, Diane Sanders, Hutchinson; three stepdaughters, Betty Malone, Paola, Linda Ediger, McPherson and Jean Archer, South Lake, Texas; two brothers, Darrel Alumbaugh, Inman and H. Herbert Alumbaugh, Menota, Ill.; three sister, R. Jean Stiles, South Hutchinson, Wanda Morris, McPherson and Patricia Falke, Hutchinson, a son-in-law, Fred Dugger, Hutchinson; a daughter-in-law, Diane Metzler, Hutchinson; seven grandchildlren; 16 step grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren and numerous step great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by: a son, Leo Sanders and a sister, Eula Belle Williams.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Corner Stone Baptist Church, Hutchinson with Pastor Larry Wedel presiding. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Elliott Mortuary. Burial will be in Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Corner Stone Baptist Church Mission Fund, in care of the funeral home.
