Pearl May Voth, 94, died Jan. 29, 2017, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. She was born Jan. 2, 1923, in Hutchinson, the daughter of Edward and Ethel May (Johns) Nyborg.
She graduated from Buhler High School in 1941. She was a homemaker and a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church, Hutchinson. Pearl was involved with various activities at the Kansas State Fair for over 30 years, helping at the 4-H Encampment Building, catering for large groups, and volunteered for the American Red Cross.
On Dec. 1, 1946, Pearl married Carl Samuel Hysom in Hutchinson. He died July 9, 1981. She later married Melvin H. Voth Aug. 17, 1985, in Hutchinson. He died July 23, 1994. Survivors include: children, John Hysom and wife Rita of Newton, Roger Hysom and wife Kathy of Nisswa, Minn., and Peggy Besecker and husband Bob of Benton, Wis.; stepsons, Rod Voth of Evansville, Wyo., and Cid Voth and wife Jane of Grove City, Ohio; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and brother, Lee Nyborg of Hutchinson. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sets of infant twins; brother, Robert Nyborg; sister, Joan Nyborg; and daughter-in-law, Ann Voth.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 3, 2017, at Emanuel Lutheran Church, 140 E. 30th Ave., Hutchinson, with Pastor Tim Carey presiding. Burial will follow in Eastside Cemetery, Hutchinson. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., with the family to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
