Peggy Jane Augustine, 76, died September 7, 2026, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. She was born August 1, 1950, in Hutchinson, to Robert Jack and Ethel Berneice (Koestel) Krug.
Peggy graduated from Partridge High School. She worked as a newspaper composer for The Hutchinson News, retiring after 30 years. In her younger years, Peggy enjoyed camping and bowling. She enjoyed spending time with her dogs, Auggie and Daisy. Peggy was the number one fan of the band “Catfish Charlie”, her husband, Pat, was a member of the band, she enjoyed travelling around with them.
On June 6, 1967, she married Donald Lee Jones, to this union they were blessed with their two children. They later divorced.
On May 21, 1990, Peggy married Patrick Gene Augustine, in Hutchinson.
Peggy is survived by: her husband of 26 years, Patrick Augustine of Hutchinson; children, Tamara (Todd) Kuntz of Panama City Beach, FL, Robert (Darcy) Jones of Nickerson; stepdaughter, Jenifer (Josh) Henderson of Blue Springs, MO; grandchildren, Ashli (Jarrett) Baurle of Olathe, Erin (Nic) Lawrence of Minneapolis, MN, Todd (Allison) Kuntz, Jr. of Wichita, Sarah Kuntz of Panama City Beach, FL, Skyler Jones of Hutchinson, Hunter Walski of Shelbyville, TN, Jessica (Darin) Knofflock of Kingman, Misty (Austin) Crutcher, Courtney (Domonick) Venskus of Wichita, Carter (Halee) Henderson of Centerview, MO, Colin (Lani) Henderson of Blue Springs, MO; eleven great-grandchildren; sister, Janice Tuxhorn; brother-in-law, Barry (Patricia) Augustine; as well as many extended family members.
She is preceded in death by: her parents; stepdaughter, Sally Knofflock; and mother-in-law, Delores Augustine.
Family graveside service will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 11, 2026, in Partridge Cemetery, 7500 S. Partridge Rd, Partridge, with Pastor Matt Stafford officiating. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, at Elliott Mortuary. Cremation has taken place.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Hospice House, Hutchinson, or Hutchinson Animal Shelter, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
