Peggy Henson, 68, of Hutchinson, died August 27, 2021, at her home. She was born August 21, 1953, in Hutchinson, to Elmer and Ella (Jenkins) Barkman.

Peggy graduated from Buhler High School in 1971. She worked as an operations manager at NCO, a collections agent for Carr Law Firm in Wichita, and retired as a para for Buhler USD 313. Peggy enjoyed shopping, gardening, and caring for her pets. But most of all, she loved being a grandma and spending time with her family.

On May 19, 1973, she married John Henson, in Hutchinson. He died January 5, 2012.

Peggy is survived by: her son, Chad Henson (Christina); granddaughters, Kylie and Kinzlee Henson; sister, Sheryl Heim (Jess); brother, Rick Barkman (Irene), all of Hutchinson; niece, Pam Elam of Hutchinson; nephews, Jeff Graves (Julie) of Hutchinson, Bret Heim (Angie) of Moran, Mitch Osborne (Ayla) of Maize; and companion, Ken Barham of Newton.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; sister, Barbara Graves; and nephew, Todd Graves.

Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, September 1, 2021, at Fairlawn Burial Park, 2401 Carey Blvd., Hutchinson. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, with family present to receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Elliott Mortuary.
