Obituary

Peggy Ruth Strickler, 85, of Hutchinson, died Aug. 11, 2016. She was born Sept. 3, 1930, in Fort Worth, Texas, to James B. and Pearl L. (Riley) Robertson.

Peggy graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1949. She was a devoted farm wife for 37 years and a pre-school teacher. Peggy was a member of the Nickerson United Methodist Church, Nickerson United Methodist Women, Chapter Q PEO, Cameo Club and Flying Farmers.

On Aug. 6, 1950, she married Lowell Dean Strickler in Hutchinson. He died July 21, 1987. Survivors include: son, Jim Strickler of Chandler, Ariz.; daughters, Sharon Lane and husband Mike of Excelsior, Minn., Lynn Gottsche and husband Mike of Ocean Springs, Miss., Kay Hoskinson and husband Randy of Hutchinson; sister, Patsy Eikleberry of Las Vegas, Nev.; sister-in-law, Yvonne Robertson of Pittsburg; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by: her parents; grandson, Mason Hoskinson; and brother, Jack Robertson.

Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 3, 2016, at Nickerson United Methodist Church, 8200 N. Riverton Road, Nickerson, with Pastor Melissa Naylor officiating. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. today through Friday, Sept. 2, 2016, with the family to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 2, 2016, at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.

Memorials may be made to the church or Hutchinson Public Library, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
