Philip Roy Mciver's Obituary
Philip Roy McIver, 73, went peacefully to be with the Lord on Monday, Feb. 2, 2015, at his home in Hutchinson. He was born Sept. 1, 1941, in Abbyville, the son of George Philip and Dorothy (Heller) McIver.
Philip was a longtime Plevna community resident and a 1959 graduate of Abbyville High School. He had worked at Architectural Millwork and then was self-employed doing remodeling work. Roy had an intense interest in chickens his entire life.
On April 17, 1961, he married Katherine Stowell in Kingman. She survives and resides in Pretty Prairie. Other survivors include: their children, Robin Ellis (John Windsor) of Clayton, Idaho, Randy of El Dorado; three grandchildren, Nicole (Jed) Palmer of Wright, Wyo., Derek (Katie) Ellis of Zimmerman, Minn., Isaac (Haley) McIver of Hutchinson; two great-grandchildren, Levi and Lexi Palmer of Wright, Wyo. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Irl.
Graveside service will be held at a later date at Abbyville Cemetery. A Celebration of life and dinner will be held at 12 p.m. Friday, Feb. 13, 2015, at the Abbyville Community Church.
