Philip A. Wargo, 75, formerly of Colorado Springs, CO, died September 4, 2026, at Good Samaritan Society – Hutchinson Village, Hutchinson, KS. He was born September 29, 1950, in Alton, Illinois, to Joe and Victoria (Powless) Wargo.

Philip graduated from Widefield High School, Colorado Springs. He received his bachelor’s degree from Colorado State University and earned his master’s in public administration from the University of Denver. Philip worked in law enforcement throughout Colorado. He enjoyed photography and researching genealogy.

Philip is survived by: his sisters, Carolyn Schinstock of Hutchinson, KS, and Barbara (James) Zimmer, formerly of Colorado Springs, currently living in Singer Island, FL; nieces and nephews, Kristi (Jim) Armstrong of Hutchinson, KS, Brad (Joanne) Schinstock of Coolidge, AZ, Ryan (Bridget) Schinstock of Grain Valley, MO, Julie Schinstock of Topeka, KS, Zach Zimmer of Waynesville, MO, and Lauren Zimmer of Jupiter, FL.

He was preceded in death by: his parents and brother-in-law, Jim Schinstock.

Cremation has taken place and private family burial will take place at a later date. Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501, is in charge of arrangements.
