Philip A. Webster, 87, died Feb. 19, 2008, at Thorne Care Center at Wesley Towers.
He was born July 15, 1920, in Iola, the son of John L. and Margaretha Krueger Webster. He graduated from Paseo High School, Kansas City, in 1938 and from Hutchinson Junior College in 1940. A longtime Hutchinson, resident, he was a project engineer for Woodwork Manufacturing.
He belonged to Park Place Christian Church, Hutchinson Reno Masonic Lodge No. 124 A.F. & A.M., and had served on the board of directors for Axtel Hospital, Newton. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
On June 15, 1940, he married L. Marceline Reeves in Hutchinson. She died May 21, 2006.
Survivors include: two sons, Don Webster and wife Nancy, Hutchinson, Christopher Webster and wife Debbie, Ozark Mo.; a daughter, Jacqueline Gingerich, Hutchinson; a brother, Leo Webster, Edmond, Okla.; 12 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a daughter-in-law, Nelly Webster, Frederick, Md.
He was preceded in death by a son, Jon; and a great-granddaughter, Faith Ann Buggeln.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Park Place Christian Church, with the Rev. Kim Biery presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today and 9 to 11 a.m. Friday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Burial will be in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum, Hutchinson. Masonic rites will be conducted by Hutchinson Reno Masonic Lodge No. 124 A.F. & A.M.
