Obituary

Phillip D. Pate, 72, of Hutchinson, died January 16, 2019, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. He was born February 13, 1946, in Hutchinson, to Virgil and Lucille (White) Pate.

Phillip graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1964. He was a warehouse foreman and salesman at Colladay Hardware, a division of Western Supply, retiring after 52 years of service. Phillip was a jokester and enjoyed collecting most anything, including old pencils and flashlights.
On October 3, 1980, he married Kay Lancaster in Miami, Oklahoma.

Phillip is survived by: his wife of 38 years, Kay of Hutchinson; son, Steven Pate and wife Esmeralda of Manhattan; daughter, Angela Galloway and husband Aaron of Plevna; sister-in-law, Sue Pate; grandchildren, Tristan Pate, Aidan Pate, Allison Galloway, Adam Galloway and wife Ashley; nieces; and his beloved Yorkies, Sammy and Holly.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Jim Pate.

Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Monday, January 21, 2019, at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with the Reverend Cindy Dubovich officiating. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Elliott Mortuary.
Memorials may be made to Hospice House, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
