Phyllis Ann Gantz, 91, died September 11, 2026, at Nebraska Medicine Bellevue Health Center. She was born October 17, 1934, in Eureka, KS, to Harold Jackson and Mabel Leona (Gibson) Easley.
In 1952, Phyllis graduated from Lyons High School. She devoted her life to raising her children and caring for her family, always making herself available to those she loved.
In her spare time, Phyllis enjoyed playing cards and bingo, reading, and expressing her creativity through arts and crafts. Above all, she cherished the time she spent with her family and friends and the memories they made together.
On March 6, 1970, she married Donald “Don” Lee Gantz, in Lyons, KS. They shared over 45 years of marriage, prior to his death on December 1, 2015.
Phyllis is survived by her children, Rhonda (Dan) Berlowitz of Bellevue, NE, Robert (Susan) Viles of Hot Springs Village, AR, Dana Thomas of Bellevue, NE, Dwight (Becky Schechter) Gantz of Lyons, KS, and Janet (David) Hunke of Arlington, VA; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Don Gantz; parents, Harold and Mabel Easley; two brothers, Earl Easley and Lawrence Easley, and one sister Vera Kruckenberg; son, Jefferey Gantz; daughter-in-law, Sherry Viles; son-in-law, John Thomas; grandsons, Kyle Thomas, John Ryan and Curtis Gantz.
Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at Pleasant View Cemetery, 24808 W. 17th Ave, Plevna, KS.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Off Campus Ministry at Thanksgiving Lutheran Church, Bellevue NE, which provided weekly senior church services at Heritage Ridge Senior Living Community, where she lived for 12 years. During her years at Heritage Ridge, she formed many cherished friendships and was grateful for the companionship, kindness, and sense of community she found there.
