Phyllis A. Moody, 69, died Feb. 2, 2010, at Hospice House, Hutchinson.
She was born April 17, 1940, in Hutchinson to Frank Martin and Clementine Cardwell Imel.
She was a lifetime Hutchinson area resident. A graduate of Buhler High School in 1958. She was a homemaker and preschool teacher. She was a member of Northminster Presbyterian Church. She was a member of Heart of Kansas Quilting Guild.
On June 22, 1958, she married Donald R. Moody in Hutchinson. He survives. Other survivors include: sons, Donald E. and Andra Moody, Hutchinson, and Gregory and Louanne Moody, Pineville, Ky.; daughters, Joleen and Dallas Schwartz, Hutchinson and Lori and Jeff Moore, Towanda; a sister, Frances Young, St. Louis, Mo.; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, four brothers and her parents.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 6, 2010 at Northminster Presbyterian Church, 1100 W. 21st, with Pastor Rob Schmutz officiating. Friends may call Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Burial will be in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum, Hutchinson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Reno County or the Boys and Girls Club of Hutchinson, in care of the funeral home.
