Preston "Dutch" Jenkins, 96, died Dec. 17, 2009 at Hospice House. He was born May 6, 1913 in Hutchinson to Harvey and Lillian Carrey Jenkins. On Aug. 11, 1934, he married Mabel Louise Hamby in Hutchinson. She died Sept. 16, 1994.

Dutch was a car dumper at the Farmers Co-Op for 20 years. He also owned and operated P.G. Jenkins Tree Service.

Survivors include two sons, Bob Jenkins and wife Ann, Haven and Gene Jenkins and wife Nettie, Hutchinson; daughter, Jacqueline Spencer and husband Marshall, Haven; sister, Esther Barkman and sister-in-law, Elsie Jenkins, both of Hutchinson; 12 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and 37 great-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Gene, Vernie, and Bob Jenkins; three sisters, Myrtle McDowell, Addie Sparks, and Ella Barkman; and a grandson, Ryan Jenkins.

Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2009 at Elliott Chapel with Pastor Harold E. Nelson officiating. Burial will follow in Fairlawn Burial Park.
