R. Ann Koehn Tegarden, 87, died Saturday, March 12, 2011, at Promise Regional Medical Center, Hutchinson.
She was born Feb. 23, 1924, in Turon, the daughter of Lloyd and Nellie Hanselman Boles.
Ann was a 1942 graduate of Cimarron High School and a 1946 graduate of Emporia State University with a degree in Commerce and Education. She taught business at Cimarron High School for 16 years, then was Gray County Clerk for 10 years retiring in 1989. She was a member of Cimarron United Methodist Church, attended Westbrook Baptist Church, Hutchinson and a member of Order of Eastern Star, both of Cimarron and Hutchinson.
On May 24, 1947, she married Ralph Koehn in Wichita. He died Sept. 21, 1978. Then on Feb. 14, 1991, she married Richard H. Tegarden in Cimarron. He died March 9, 2000.
She is survived by her children, Crystal and Greg Becker, Alma, Kim Koehn, Cimarron; two grandchildren, Krysandra Becker and Justin York, Jeremy and Joy Becker; six great-grandchildren, Colbey, Amanda, Aaren, Alyssa, Bradley and Ashley.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Chet and Chal Boles.
Service will be 2 p.m. Friday, March 18, 2011, at Cimarron United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Larry Danforth officiating. Inurnment will be in Cimarron Cemetery. Calling hours will be 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday at Elliott Mortuary and Crematory, Hutchinson.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Westbrook Baptist Church, Good Samaritan Fund at Wesley Towers or Cimarron United Methodist Church in care of the mortuary.
