Ralph B. Christie, 88, died Dec. 15, 2013, at his home in Hutchinson. He was born June 23, 1925, in Garden City, Kan., the son of Jubal Good and Ruby Agnes (Rose) Christie.
Ralph served in the US Army. He was a welder for Service Pipeline Company and a member of First Baptist Church. On June 12, 1964, he married Deeva M. "Dee" Oleman in Hays, Kan. She survives. Other survivors include: daughters, Kathy Hill and husband Danny of Newton, Janis Kling and husband Mark of Hutchinson, Debra Doerksen and husband Dennis of Rolla, Mo., Barbara Manny and husband Bryan of Hutchinson, Linda Montandon of Hutchinson; brother, Bill Christie of Stafford; sister, Leota Belle "Chris" Buchanan of Little River; sister-in-law, Lauvon Christie of Wichita; ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Donald, Everette "Corky", and Leo Christie.
Memorial service will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 19, 2013, at Elliott Mortuary Chapel, Hutchinson, with Pastor Chip Bungard presiding. Military honors will be conducted by Kansas Army National Guard Military Funeral Honor Guard. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today and Wednesday, with family to receive friends from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Elliott Mortuary. Cremation has taken place.
