Obituary

Ralph R. Goering, 87, died Jan. 23, 2013, at Wesley Towers, Hester Care Center, Hutchinson.

He was born Feb. 2, 1925, in Seattle, Wash., the son of Elmer P. and Elma (Sherwood) Goering.

He graduated from Hutchinson High School and was a World War II Army veteran receiving the bronze star and purple heart. Ralph was a retired Reno County Deputy Sheriff.

On Feb. 7, 1948, he married Marietta Belle Noffsinger in Hutchinson. She survives.

Other survivors include: three children, Cheryl May and husband Randy of Plano, Texas, Mark Goering and wife Raedean of Joplin, Mo., Lora Hardacre and husband Charles Harmony of Hutchinson; a sister, Barbara Logan of Denver, Colo.; a brother, Edward Parker of Seattle, Wash.; seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 28, 2013, at First United Methodist Church, with Pastor Mark Conard presiding. Burial will be in Fairlawn Burial Park. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Memorials may be made to Harden Hospice, Wesley Towers Good Samaritan Fund, or First United Methodist Church in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
