Ralph V. Jones, 85, died Aug. 6, 2010, at his home in Hutchinson.

He was born July 9, 1925, in rural Pretty Prairie, the son of John Claude and Nellie Jane White Jones.

Ralph graduated from Castleton High School and attended Adela Hale Business College. He was a World War II Navy veteran serving from 1942-1946, as a machinist mate 3rd class. Ralph retired as a quality assurance inspector for P.M.S. Foods.

On May 29, 1981, he married Linda Lou Herrod in Hutchinson. She survives.

Other survivors include: sons, Donald Jones and wife Cheri, Hutchinson, Randy Brookman and wife Robin, Stafford; stepdaughter, Stacie Smith and husband Steve, Marion; stepson, Todd Schartz, Hutchinson; son, Carl Jones, IA; brother and sisters, Bob Jones, Ruby Ratley and Dorothy Bishop, all of Hutchinson; four nieces, Brenda DeMayo, Cassie Fitzgibbon, Robin Badwey and Christy Keith; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 12, 2010, at Elliott Mortuary Chapel, with Larry Jones presiding. Friends may call 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in Lone Star Cemetery, rural Pretty Prairie.
