The Reverend Ralph A. Rosenblad, 92, died Saturday, March 8, 2014, at his home. He was born June 8, 1921, at Boston, MA, the son of Gustav and Robina Alexander Rosenblad.
He was a graduate of Baker University, Baldwin and Boston University School of Theology. He was ordained as an elder clergy member of the New England Conference of the Methodist Church and later transferred to Kansas West Conference serving pastorates at Springfield, Lowell and Ballardvale Andover, MA, Tisdale, Sylvia-Huntsville, Bushton-Geneseo, Stafford, Minneola and Downs-Portis, then in retirement at Penalosa and Turon. He was also a member of the Hutchinson Horticulture Club, a master gardener, Salt Minors Barbershop Chorus, Kansas Mennonite Mens Chorus, Hutchinson Men's Gospel Chorus, Reno Choral Society and a volunteer for Meals on Wheels.
On June 8, 1946, he married Helen Viola Streeter in Hutchinson. She survives.
Other survivors include: their children and their spouses, Signe and Glen Rogers, of Newton, KS, Eric and Kathy, of Pittsburg, KS, Kirstin and Robert Zielke, of Camano Island, WA, and Lars and Christine, of rural Farmington, WA; seven grandchildren, Christian Rosenblad, Rebekah and Dustin Morris, Zane Zielke, Jonathan Rogers, Sarah and David Roush, Ruth and Randy Pauls, Benjamin Rogers; and 10 great-grandchildren, Cash, Eleazar, Tyler, Andrew, Hannah, Isaac, Azaria, Jude, Noah and Abraham. He was preceded in death by an infant sister, Grace Rosenblad.
Funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 12, 2014, at the First United Methodist Church, Hutchinson, with the Reverend Jeanine I. Rishel officiating. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday with the family present from 7 to 8 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Burial will be in Eastside Cemetery.
