Randall "Randy" Buckman died June 15, 2013, in Hutchinson at Hospice House. He was born March 11, 1930, at Hutchinson Hospital, the son of Randall H. and Ruby Moore Buckman.
After graduating from Sterling High School he served in the United States Army in Korea.
He met Mary Logan in 1951, and following a long-distance courtship by mail, they married on February 8, 1953, just days after his discharge. They celebrated 60 years of marriage.
Randall and Mary owned and operated R & M Paint & Upholstery at Geneseo, Kansas, for 20 years. In February 1975, Randall and Mary both began second 20 year long careers with Collins Industries, where he worked in Research and Development.
Survivors include: wife, Mary of the home; sister, Barbara Smith; two brothers, Robert Buckman of Macksville, and Ralph Buckman of Sterling; daughter, Charlotte Poepperling (Gerry) of Buhler; daughter, Cheryl Field (Glenn) of Hutchinson; nine grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren.
Randall was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 19, 2013, at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday and Tuesday with the family to receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Inurnment will be in Fairlawn Burial Park.
