Ray E. Holmes' Obituary
Ray E. Holmes, 85, died Dec. 2, 2009, at Via Christi St. Francis Regional Medical Center, Wichita.
He was born May 11, 1924, at Utica to Fahey and Alma Ann McCartee Holmes.
He graduated from Garden Home High School in Denver in 1941, and attended the University of Denver. He was a retired Vice President of the former Jackson Ice Cream Company and owned several residential rental properties. He served in the U.S. Navy Air Corp from 1941-1942, and then served as a Captain in the U.S. Army Air Force from 1942-1952.
Sept. 19, 1948, he married Thelma J. Webster in Utica, she survives.
Other survivors include: sons, Phillip R, Hutchinson, Bart W. and wife Kelly, St. Louis, Mo.; daughter, Jody A. Holmes, Hutchinson; brother, Darrell M., Wichita; grandchildren, Andy L. Hungerford, Hutchinson, Michael R. Holmes, Springfield, Mo., Thomas J. Holmes, St. Louis, Mo.; great-grandchild, Mimi Holmes. He was preceded in death by: son, Brett; brother Dawrence.
There will be no public visitation or services. His body will be cremated with private family services at a later time.
